Leather maintenance
The leather accessories offered by Lileo Store are made to take advantage of the natural characteristics of leather and are made with as little processing as possible.
As a result, the backside and cut edges of the leather are more exposed than in ordinary leather accessories.
As you use the product, fraying may occur on the back and cut edges due to aging and damage.
Here we will introduce some easy maintenance methods that you can do at home.
It's not the correct way to do it, but if you're interested, I'd be happy if you could give it a try.
If you think it would be too much trouble to do it yourself or you're not confident, please contact us.
Lileo Store's products are maintained responsibly.
Depending on the condition of the item, parts may need to be replaced or additional charges may apply (such as shipping fees).
Please be aware of this in advance.
Here's what you need to bring to work.

Scissors, starch glue, cloth, brush

There is some fuzziness in the fibers on the back and cut edges.

Use scissors to cut off any unwanted fuzz so as not to damage the leather.

I cut the fluff just enough to make the corners slightly rounded.
Compared to the other side, this alone makes it look neater.

Next up is starch glue and a brush.
Starch glue is something you can find at the stationery stores that I often used when I was a child.
If you don't have a brush handy, a cotton swab will do.

Apply a small amount of glue to the brush.

Apply it to the cut surface that you just removed the fuzz from.
Apply the product thoroughly, being careful not to get it on the surface of the leather, allowing it to penetrate.

Before the glue dries, polish the surface with a cloth.
It is easier to polish the cut edges if you raise the height and hold it down using the edge of a desk or a magazine.
At this time, you must also be careful not to let the glue spill out and get on the surface.

It's hard to see in the photo, but compared to the other side, it changes to a wet color and becomes glossy.
Once it has dried thoroughly, the fuzz has been reduced and the fibers are tightly packed together, and it is finished.
This reduces friction on the entire back surface, making it easier to use.
When we perform maintenance here, we use special paint, but the basic work is the same as what we have introduced.
If you search for "leather craft edge polishing," you will find a variety of specialized tools and methods, but we believe it is also important to be able to do things easily using everyday items.
Lileo Store products are made with a simple structure, so you can easily replace individual parts, but we would be happy if you could use them with love by maintaining them yourself.
