Even when I talk about the brand, the message and nuance I'm trying to convey seem to be different. It often doesn't feel right, so I'll explain the philosophy and concept of the Lileo Store, even though it's a little late.
This is the third installment, and it's about "manufacturing." I hope it gives you a vague idea of what I'm thinking about.
When talking about design philosophy, the word "simple" inevitably comes up. It's a word we often see used by other brands.
At first glance, it seems like an easy-to-understand expression, but I feel like it can be interpreted in a variety of ways.
The true meaning of simplicity
Let's take a moment to think about what Lileo Store thinks the true meaning of the word "simple" is.
First, I tried to translate it literally.
simple :
Simple, uncomplicated, plain, modest, basic
Next, I have translated some expressions that are used in similar situations.
standard :
Standards, norms, moral standards
basic :
Basic, basic, bare minimum
orthodox :
Orthodox, accepted, traditional, conventional
Depending on the brand, some people may consider traditional products made with traditional techniques or commonly seen standard shapes to be "simple."
The simplicity of Lireo Store, which I wrote about last time, is the idea of "not doing anything complicated." It's something that has basic uses and can accomplish things with minimal elements. Personally, I was surprised, but out of the three, the closest in meaning was "basic."
I think this difference in perception makes a big difference when it comes to creating things. It's hard to say which style is best, as each person has their own sense and preferences, but the thinking of Lileo Store, which is self-taught, may be to propose a basic lifestyle that is neither standard nor orthodox. I would like to continue working hard, aiming for the day when such basic proposals become the standard.
I have explained it roughly over four posts, but I am not sure if you enjoyed it or if you will agree with it. I am just grateful that you have read it.
