Even when I talk about the brand, the message and nuance I'm trying to convey seem to be different. It often doesn't feel right, so I'll explain the philosophy and concept of the Lileo Store, even though it's a little late.
This is the fourth installment, and it's about "simplicity." I hope it gives you a vague idea of what I'm thinking.
Last time, I talked about my desire to work to propose an ideal living environment. This time, I would like to write about why I chose to use manufacturing as the method of proposal.
To get straight to the point, I think it's a matter of personality.
There are many ways to propose cultural ideas, such as creating spaces and education, and I think there are also many more direct ways of expression.
I feel it would be presumptuous of me to ask others for direct understanding or to teach them.
I would be very happy if people could somehow get the sense through our products that "there is such a way of thinking" or "there is such an ideal."
I think that's just his personality.
What is the philosophy behind your activities?
I believe that crafts made with outstanding technology and products that utilize physics and science are indispensable in today's world. I also believe that the value of the object itself, that is sublimated and called art, is important.
At Lileo Store, we believe that things exist as "tools to accomplish what is necessary. " Necessities are everyday actions, such as eating and drinking, or storing and carrying things.
Both traditional crafts and mass production were originally carried out with the aim of making things easier, but before you know it, they seem like technologies and products that were arrived at after repeated attempts to create tools that made things easier.
Wouldn't it be counterproductive to create tools that are too complicated to solve problems easily?
Unconscious Beauty
Therefore, what Lileo Store is conscious of in its designs is "unconscious beauty."
Let's think of some things we can do using a single cup as an example.
Drink water, arrange flowers, hold pens, or store small items.
There may be more uses for it in different environments.
Such unconscious changes in perspective and resourceful thinking are the creative power that solves problems and enriches our lives. We believe that the design of Lileo Store is the act of thinking about ways to use things and systems to solve discomforts and problems in daily life.
It may not be perfectly convenient, but it could allow us to create borderless products that remain fresh and appeal to all genders and ages.
That's the kind of research I'm doing.
This can be summed up in the word "simple".
I can't help but feel that this has a slightly different nuance from the "simple" that I often see from other brands.
What does the word "simple" really mean to us at Lileo Store? I don't know if you're interested, but I'd like to continue this for a little while longer.
